HVAC Technician
About the role
EMI Services, a subsidiary of TechFlow, is hiring Commercial HVAC Technicians to support mission-critical infrastructure at Camp Pendleton. This position offers non-seasonal, full-time work with no travel required.
Responsibilities
- Work on various types of HVAC units including split packages, residential style, and light commercial systems such as mini-splits, VAV's, and AHU's.
- Use a multi-meter to check voltage and use a torch for brazing.
- Prepare work orders and estimate costs for materials.
- Assist in training lower-level workers in mechanical repair techniques.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- At least 2 years of experience in commercial HVAC maintenance, repair, installation, and operation.
- EPA Type II Refrigeration License.
- Completed an HVAC I course or equivalent.
- Regular, dependable attendance required.
- Overtime available, including nights and weekends.
- Valid driver's license compliant with REAL ID Act or willing to obtain one.
- Pass a pre-employment drug screening and background check.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs unassisted.
- Physical demands include prolonged periods of sitting, bending, squatting, standing, twisting, or stooping, climbing ladders, and entering confined spaces.
- Work both indoors and outdoors in various temperatures and weather conditions.
Qualifications
- PRACTICE WORKPLACE SAFETY in the use of tools, equipment, and supplies used in repair of HVAC equipment, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
Skills
- Extensive knowledge of HVAC principles.
- Ability to recognize and determine the most efficient method for diagnosing, testing, and correcting malfunctions.
- EPA Universal Certified.
- Understand the Refrigeration cycle with the ability to troubleshoot mechanical issues and recommend repair strategies.
