Job Summary

We are seeking a motivated HVAC Technician to join our growing team! The HVAC Field Service Technician will perform preventive maintenance, troubleshoot, set up, and repair a wide range of portable HVAC equipment in the rental fleet. Field service work will be performed in various industrial and commercial facilities, while shop work will be conducted at our Oakwood facility. Our fleet's equipment includes air conditioners ranging from 80 tons to 500 tons, chillers up to 500 tons, direct- and indirect-fired heaters, electric heaters, dehumidifiers, and hydronic systems.

Essential Functions And Responsibilities

  • Able to read complex electrical schematics.
  • Refrigerant recovery, evacuation, and charging.
  • Brazing copper to copper and dissimilar metals.
  • Advanced refrigeration side troubleshooting.
  • Thorough understanding of refrigerant superheat and subcooling.
  • Combustion analysis.
  • Strong written and verbal skills.
  • Basic computer skills.

Minimum Skills And Qualifications

  • High School diploma required.
  • Degree from a recognized HVAC school.
  • EPA Universal Refrigerant certification.
  • 5+ years of applicable experience.
  • Valid driver's license.

  • Primary functions require sufficient physical ability and mobility to work in an office setting.
  • To stand or sit for prolonged periods.
  • To occasionally stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, reach, and twist.
  • To lift, carry, push, and/or pull up to 50 pounds of weight.
  • To operate office equipment requiring repetitive hand movement and fine coordination.
  • To verbally communicate to exchange information.

  • Frequent movement requiring hands, wrists, and fingers.

Environmental Factors

  • The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet in office settings and moderate to loud in other situations, with both constant and sudden loud noises possible.
