HVAC Supervisor
About the role
The HVAC Supervisor plays a pivotal role in delivering a high-quality service by meeting with client representatives and customers as required, gaining feedback, engaging in proactive dialogue, and promoting OCS and client site operations in a positive light. The role involves overseeing the administration of the HVAC services element of the client contract and providing reporting and feedback to the National Operations HVAC Manager and OCS management team.
Responsibilities
- Ensure services are conducted in line with the Framework Agreement and that KPIs are achieved, resolving any identified issues in a timely fashion.
- Provide OCS line management responsibility on site for HVAC services delivered by OCS staff and appointed sub-contractors.
- Act as the OCS senior representative for all HVAC-related matters, providing expertise, surveying sites and facilities, and liaising with client representatives.
- Produce HVAC risk assessments for service and manage the implementation of procedures.
- Utilize service excellence skills to develop and maintain working relations with the customer and client team.
- Identify and meet client needs, focusing on communication and delivering first-class customer service.
- Support the compilation and implementation of a focused Service Excellence Programme, including customer surveys, monitoring feedback, and generating continuous improvement.
- Identify and implement operational improvements to ensure high-quality service and avoid potential complaint situations.
- Work with client and OCS Senior Managers to develop plans for expanding and enhancing OCS service offerings.
- Oversee administration of the HVAC element of the contract, including personnel and sub-contractor management, forward planning, and preparation of monthly reports and KPI results.
- Ensure work adheres to company policies, procedures, and Health & Safety legislation to maintain operational integrity and employee safety.
- Manage sub-contractors and suppliers, ensuring they are briefed on site rules and comply with them.
- Support the development and maintenance of the OCS CAFM (agility/EMMA) system for accurate records and reporting.
- Conduct staff appraisals, development, and training while maintaining appropriate records.
- Compile periodic reports and maintain excellent communication with colleagues and the client.
- Participate in an on-call roster.
Requirements
- Highly developed interpersonal and customer relationship skills.
- Professional and polished appearance and manner.
- Valid first aid at work qualification (preferred but not essential).
- Previous experience in a similar HVAC service manager role (preferred).
- Excellent administrative, organizational, telephone, and interpersonal skills.
- Methodical, articulate, and proactive approach.
- Good IT skills, including Microsoft 365.
- Ability to confidently deliver presentations and communicate at all levels.
- Valid, full driving license (preferred).
- Knowledge of all aspects of HVAC (Combustion) services.
- Good communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
- Flexible and adaptable with other trades.
- A team player with the ability to work on your own initiative.
- Willingness to learn new skills and embrace procedures.
- Undertaken relevant Health and Safety Training (SMSTS / IOSH).
- Flexible approach to working hours, including reasonable overtime as required.
- Literate and numerate.
