About the role
The HVAC Start Up Technician installs, starts up, tests, troubleshoots, and commissions HVAC systems to ensure safe, efficient operation and a smooth customer handoff.
Responsibilities
- Start up, test, calibrate, and commission newly installed HVAC equipment and controls.
- Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, refrigeration, and control issues using diagnostic tools.
- Document work performed, system settings, repairs, and performance checks accurately.
- Communicate system operation, maintenance needs, and next steps to customers and internal teams.
- Follow company safety standards and complete assigned work in customer settings.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- EPA 608 Certification
- 1+ year of HVAC start-up, installation, commissioning, or troubleshooting experience
- Working knowledge of HVAC systems, controls, diagnostic tools, and electrical/mechanical/refrigeration principles
Qualifications
Preferred: HVAC training program, apprenticeship, or NATE certification.
Pay
$24 - $25 per hour + potential for additional $200 per week in incentives

Work Environment
This role is performed in customer settings, including indoor and outdoor environments such as attics, basements, confined spaces, and rooftops.
Physical Demands
- Must be able to stand, bend, crawl, kneel, climb ladders, access crawl spaces and rooftops, move safely on stairs, and lift up to 60 pounds.
- Travel by personal or company-provided vehicle may be required.
