Responsibilities
- Assist Foreman and other mechanics with monitoring, repairing, and installing air conditioning and heating systems on campus.
- Monitor and correct any deficiencies in HVAC systems as directed.
- Understand the type and purpose of each system used to maintain the buildings and areas of the entire campus.
- Investigate technical problems and determine the best solution to maintain service to campus areas.
- Instruct junior mechanics in the proper protocols and repair procedures.
- Report job information to supervision including any repairs or deficiencies found and the parts or materials needed to correct the condition.
- Report and correct any unsafe practices or condition to supervision.
- Study technical materials and repair manuals to increase knowledge of equipment and systems used on campus and the safety protocols needed for safe operation of all systems.
Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or GEDEPA refrigerant handling certification.
- Experience: Four (4) years of relevant vocational or technical training may be substituted for experience on a year-to-year basis.
- Knowledge, Skills, Abilities: Ability to understand standard equipment operating and handling safety protocols; Mechanical knowledge and skills to service and repair HVAC systems and related equipment; Ability to follow given instructions and keep records.
