HVAC Sheet Metal Mechanic – Journeyman

Responsibilities

• Fabricate, assemble, install, and repair HVAC sheet metal ductwork and related components, including ducts, drain pans, control boxes, and equipment casings
• Read and interpret blueprints, specifications, contract documents, and shop drawings
• Install duct systems in accordance with SMACNA standards, company guidelines, and mechanical codes
• Aid foremen with layout, material staging, and jobsite coordination
• Perform accurate field measurements and layout prior to installation
• Seal, insulate, and support duct systems to ensure proper airflow and energy efficiency
• Cover coordinate with pipefitters, electricians, and other trades to support project schedules
• Inspect work for quality and compliance with drawings and specifications
• Maintain tools and equipment in a safe and operational condition
• Follow all company safety policies and OSHA requirements
• Participate in jobsite safety meetings and maintain a clean work environment

Requirements

• Journeyman-level experience in HVAC sheet metal installation on commercial construction projects
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and follow detailed installation instructions
• Completion of a sheet metal apprenticeship program preferred
• Journeyman HVAC or Sheet Metal certification preferred but not required
• Familiarity with ATU, RTU, split systems, and commercial duct applications
• OSHA 10-Hour preferred (OSHA 30-Hour a plus)
• Must have reliable transportation and ability to work full-time with overtime as required

• Hands-on commercial HVAC sheet metal experience
• Ability to work independently while maintaining high quality and safety standards
