Service Tech Positions and Responsibilities

Service Technician I
- Often a recent graduate from an accredited trade school or has 3 or less years of experience in the field
- Qualified and able to make repairs in the field but not proficient enough to make diagnosis for repairs unsupervised
- Proficient in preventative maintenance work

Service Technician II
- Required accreditations including EPA certification
- Generally has more than 3 years’ experience in the field of HVAC service and repair
- Qualified and skilled in maintaining and servicing commercial grade HVAC equipment including but not limited to unitary products up to 50-ton package units, boilers, and heat exchangers without supervision

Service Technician III
- Required accreditations including EPA certification
- Generally has more than 5 years’ experience in the field of HVAC service and repair
- Qualified and skilled in maintaining and servicing commercial grade HVAC equipment, including but not limited to, unitary products up to 50-ton package units, boilers, heat exchangers, control valves, chillers (including retrofitting) without supervision
