About the role
The HVAC Service Sales Rep drives growth and profitability by building profitable service relationships with new customers, focusing on renewable maintenance agreements, and supporting account expansion within an assigned geographic territory. Based in a local branch office, you will collaborate with sales and operations teams to advance opportunities and close business.
Responsibilities
- Initiate, establish, and grow profitable service relationships with new customers.
- Sell renewable maintenance agreements as the foundation for long-term customer partnerships.
- Work an assigned geographic territory in collaboration with local branch sales and operations teams.
- Use sales tools to plan, document, and track sales progress and opportunities.
- Identify and develop new business by uncovering customer needs and market opportunities.
- Conduct sales calls focused on heating, cooling, ventilation, and control system equipment.
- Prepare, review, and finalize proposals and secure customer commitment to the Johnson Controls solution.
- Lead customer kick-off meetings, support issue resolution, and help maintain and extend service agreements.
- Create pull-through opportunities, support collections activity, and strengthen account growth.
- Develop territory marketing plans aligned with the Johnson Controls Building Solutions strategy.
- Attend trade shows, participate in professional organizations, and represent Johnson Controls with professionalism.

Requirements
- At least 2 years of progressive commercial sales experience, preferably in commercial HVAC or Building Automation.
- Exposure to sales methodologies, standards, and disciplines.
- Strong presentation skills with the ability to communicate effectively in both one-on-one and group settings.
- Ability to build relationships, influence decisions, and close business consistently.
- Comfort using sales tools and maintaining accurate records of sales activity and account status.
Nice to have
- Aptitude for technical knowledge with a high level of attention to detail.
- Experience selling service, maintenance agreements, or other intangible offerings.
- Knowledge of building HVAC systems.
- Experience with Salesforce.com.
- Post-secondary education.

Pay
Hiring salary range: $53,400 – $80,250, determined by education, experience, knowledge, skills, and internal equity. This role includes a competitive bonus plan based on individual, group, and corporate performance.
