Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair residential HVAC equipment, including furnaces, air conditioners, heat pumps, air handlers, thermostats, and indoor air quality systems.
- Perform warranty service calls in accordance with manufacturer and company guidelines.
- Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, refrigeration, and airflow-related issues.
- Conduct system inspections and preventive maintenance services.
- Complete warranty documentation, service reports, and parts requests accurately and promptly.
- Communicate findings and repair recommendations to homeowners in a professional manner.
- Verify proper system operation after repairs and ensure customer satisfaction.
- Maintain service vehicles, tools, equipment, and inventory.
- Follow all safety procedures, EPA regulations, and company policies.
- Collaborate with dispatchers, warranty administrators, manufacturers, and management to resolve service issues efficiently.
- Participate in on-call rotation and emergency service coverage as required.
Qualifications and Requirements
- A high school diploma or GED is required.
- An HVAC certification or technical school training is preferred.
- EPA Section 608 Certification is required.
- A minimum of 2–5 years of residential HVAC service experience is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of HVAC diagnostic procedures, refrigeration systems, electrical troubleshooting, and airflow principles is necessary.
- The ability to read wiring diagrams, technical manuals, and manufacturer specifications is important.
- A valid driver's license with a clean driving record is required.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills are essential.
- The ability to work independently and manage multiple service calls is crucial.
Work Environment
- Works in field environments across residential job sites, climbing ladders and navigating uneven surfaces.
- Regularly works in confined spaces and moves materials up to 50 pounds.
- Operates hand and power tools and vehicles.
- Must be able to see, hear, and exchange accurate information with customers and team members.
- Regular exposure to outdoor weather, noise, and dust.
