About the Role
JMU Facilities Management is seeking an HVAC Repair/Preventative Maintenance Technician to assist with repairs and maintenance of all HVAC and related equipment on campus.
Responsibilities
- Assist with the repairs and maintenance of HVAC equipment
- Perform inspections on equipment
- Maintain current EPA requirements on proper refrigerant usage
- Assist with seasonal maintenance on HVAC systems to ensure reliable and efficient operation
- Order parts and materials needed for jobs
- Maintain tools and test equipment in good working condition
- Provide input for replacements and repairs of HVAC and related systems
Requirements
- Working knowledge of HVAC and related equipment
- Ability to use various test instruments
- Ability to troubleshoot and repair HVAC and related equipment
- EPA Section 608 certification
- EPA Type II refrigerant usage certification or ability to obtain
- Availability to work overtime and/or temporary shifts to service critical HVAC and refrigeration systems
- Availability for rotating on-call responsibilities
Conditions of Employment
- Employment contingent upon successful completion of a criminal background check and acceptable motor vehicle record (MVR)
- New hires must complete an I-9 form and present documentation of identity and eligibility to work in the United States
Pay
$51,000–$54,000 per year
