HVAC-REFRIGERATION TECHNICIAN

Responsibilities

• Installation of all types of HVAC-Refrigeration equipment in a safe and acceptable manner.
• Install electrical wiring and control wiring as necessary.
• Properly design and size an HVAC&R system.
• Install and repair duct work.
• Utilize proper filtration.
• Troubleshoot and repair or replace HVAC&R components as necessary.
• Perform preventative maintenance on all equipment.
• Perform indoor air quality testing.
• Utilize safe working practices.
• Assist with snow removal.
• Respond to after hour emergencies as required; Carry and respond to a departmental pager as necessary.
• Perform clerical tasks related to the position, (EPA regulations) as required and necessary.
• Assist with other maintenance tasks and duties as necessary and required.
• Perform all other duties as assigned by the Maintenance Supervisor, or his designee.

Qualifications

• High School Graduate or equivalent.
• Graduate of an HVAC&R Vocational Technical Training Program required.
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in the HVAC&R trade and building automation operation preferred.
• EPA Certification for proper refrigerant practices required.
• Valid state driver's license required.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Able to work with children.
