About the role

The HVAC Preventative Maintenance Technician is responsible for administering preventive maintenance and repairs for all heating, ventilating, and air conditioning equipment. The position requires flexible work shifts.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains preventative maintenance program and completes documentation as required. (Daily, 35%)
  • Performs water treatment testing for all open and closed loops – reports deficiencies to associated HVAC Technician. (Daily, 20%)
  • Changes air filters and lubricates equipment as required. (Daily, 10%)
  • Completes work orders and requests as assigned and maintains daily work log. (Daily, 10%)
  • Provides support for other departments as required. (Daily, 5%)
  • Covers for HVAC technician during vacation periods. (Daily, 5%)
  • Logs equipment performance as required. (Daily, 5%)
  • Keeps equipment clean and free of obstacles. (Daily, 5%)
  • Performs other duties as assigned or requested. (Daily, 5%)

Qualifications

  • High School Equivalency (HSE) diploma or equivalent
  • Two (2) years of progressively responsible experience in commercial or institutional HVAC systems
  • Must meet insurability requirements of the Colorado School District Self Insurance Pool
  • Colorado driver’s license

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions

  • Work location is subject to change to meet the requirements of the organization
  • Medium work strength level (lifting or carrying 50 pounds)
  • Works both indoors and outdoors
  • Good motor skills (hand tools and machinery used daily)
  • Pushing, pulling, repetitive motions such as bending, climbing stairs, ladders, and vehicles, squatting, overhead work
