HVAC O&M Chiller Mechanic (union)

What you will do

• Provide service and maintenance for commercial ducted products, air cooled and/or water-cooled chillers, AHU’s, and roof-top ducted units.
• Offer solutions and recommendations to improve facility efficiency and resolve service-related issues.
• Communicate with customers to understand their needs and provide tailored solutions.
• Prepare quotes for recommended solutions and upsell opportunities.

Requirements

• Must be a member of the United Association of Journeymen and Apprentices of the Plumbing and Pipe Fitting Industry of the United States and Canada, AFL-CIO.
• At least 5 years of practical experience on Commercial ducted products, air cooled and/or water-cooled chillers, AHU’s, or Roof Top ducted units.
• Strong HVAC/ mechanical troubleshooting experience, including the ability to repair centrifugal compressors, steam turbines, and screw chiller system components.
• Travel up to 20% of the time to support startup and commissioning activities, as well as aftermarket service trouble-shooting.
• Able to pass a knowledge examination to assess proficiencies.

Qualifications

• Enroll in training programs and JCI’s Service Technical Academy (STA) to gain knowledge in HVAC products and sales quoting.
• Work collaboratively with other local market mechanics.
• Show attention to detail through interpersonal, digital, and written communication skills.
• Write and communicate effectively about facility problems, causes, and corrective actions to customers.
• Participate in JCI’s Service Plus Rewards program.
• Be a self-starter with a passion for learning and applying new skills on the job.
