Job Duties
- Repairs and monitors air conditioning systems (central and package), heating systems (water and steam), steam systems (high, medium, low pressure), temperature readings on fans and pumps, heating, cooling, and re-circulation pumps.
- Maintains fans (supply, return, exhaust), and oxygen and nitrous oxide piping.
- Maintains chilled water, steam, condensate, roof leader, glass acid piping and all other related piping.
- Makes rounds in all mechanical rooms, logs said rounds, monitors equipment, repairs plumbing (sinks, toilets, etc.).
- Performs plumbing installation and repair.
- Snakes out drain lines and sewers.
- Troubleshoots electrical and pneumatic controls and checks air compressors.
- Makes recommendations to supervisor in regard to safety and equipment operation procedure.
- Recommends when the equipment needs to be replaced instead of repaired.
- Responds to elevator emergencies.
- Performs general repair to building and equipment on assigned zone/floor as requested.
- Completes daily time report at end of shift.
- Performs snow/ice removal as requested.

Qualifications
- Preferably, a minimum of one year experience.
- Ability to select and use tools and equipment appropriate to the task required.
- Speaks, reads and writes English to the extent required by the position.
- Good interpersonal skills.
- Education: Trade school (HVAC or plumbing courses) graduate is preferred.
