HVAC Jr. Mechanic

Job Responsibilities & Requirements

• Aid experienced technicians in installing, maintaining, and repairing heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems.
• Use a variety of hand-tools to diagnose and repair units according to blueprints or engineering specifications.
• Analyze, diagnose, and repair systems and products at customer locations.
• Perform preventative maintenance, site surveys, replacements, and modifications as needed or requested by customers.
• Prepare for on-site installation and repairs by examining building layouts, anticipating difficulties, gathering materials, and coordinating on-site work.
• Inspect vehicles for condition and cleanliness.
• Maintain vehicles by keeping records of service, scheduling, and completing repairs and maintenance tasks.
• Inspect equipment for signs of wear, notify customers and/or Operations Manager of findings, and document these inspections.
• Document work by completing paperwork on each job and maintaining files.
• Represent the company by serving as a direct customer contact.
• Determine parts to order for repairs and ensure timeliness of needs.
• Document work by completing paperwork on each job, including daily time, progress, and duration; maintain files; and return unused resources.
• Turn in all required paperwork and reports in a timely manner.
• Stay current on all products concerning installation, operation, maintenance, service, and repair.
• Read and interpret product specifications.
• Provide technical support to customers.

Qualifications

• A strong willingness to learn and a positive attitude are crucial.
• Flexibility to work overtime and weekends as necessary.
• Regular travel requirements with some overnight travel, as needed.
