HVAC Jr. Mechanic

Job Responsibilities & Requirements

• Aid experienced technicians in installing, maintaining, and repairing heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems.
• Use a variety of hand-tools to diagnose and repair HVAC units according to blueprints or engineering specifications.
• Analyze, diagnose, and repair systems and products at customer locations.
• Perform preventative maintenance, conduct site surveys, replace, and make modifications as needed or requested by customers.
• Prepare for on-site installations and repairs by examining building layouts, anticipating difficulties, gathering materials, and coordinating work.
• Inspect vehicles for condition and cleanliness.
• Keep records of vehicle service, schedule repairs, and maintain records of completed work.
• Notify customers and/or Operations Managers of any equipment issues found during inspections.
• Order necessary parts for repairs and ensure they are delivered in a timely manner.
• Document work by completing paperwork on each job, including daily time, progress, and duration, and maintaining files.
• Report on parts, materials, labor, subcontractors, and other costs per assignment and return unused resources.
• Submit required paperwork and reports promptly.
• Stay updated on all relevant products related to installation, operation, maintenance, service, and repair.
• Interpret product specifications and provide technical support to customers.
• Show a strong willingness to learn and maintain a positive attitude.
• Be flexible to work overtime and weekends as necessary.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver's license.
• Experience with HVAC systems preferred but not required.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and engineering specifications.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
