About the role

Perform installation, diagnosis, troubleshooting, and repair of HVAC Building Automation and controls systems.

Responsibilities

• Program, troubleshoot, and repair building automation and control systems, including Honeywell WEBS, LON, BACnet, Tridium, and JCI Facility Explorer control systems.
• Install Building Automation Systems from drawings, submittals, and specifications.
• Maintain, inspect, and repair pneumatic, electronic, and electric DDC HVAC system controls.
• Perform troubleshooting tasks, including problem diagnosis, identification, and isolation; discuss system malfunctions with users to assist in problem isolation.
• Use TAB techniques to perform diagnostic duties and make repairs to systems.
• Inspect systems to verify compliance with plans and specifications and detect malfunctions in system component parts.
• Study building system design, as-built blueprints, HVAC systems diagrams, technical specifications, and system configurations.
• Test component and system performance to determine the need for adjustment or repair; develop methods to resolve performance problems efficiently and cost-effectively.
• Program, design, and modify HVAC sub-systems of electronic building automation systems.
• Consult with engineers and contractors regarding system operation and configuration.
• Order appropriate materials, components, and equipment necessary for efficient system operation.
• Perform other related work in support of general HVAC maintenance activity.
• Knowledge of HVAC mechanical equipment: large split systems, chillers, boilers, VAVs, water source heat pumps, CW/HW pumps, and starters.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Minimum 4 years of experience in the trade, which may include an apprenticeship and/or applicable vocational training, with some experience in HVAC trade as a service or maintenance technician.
• Minimum 2 years of automated system controls-related experience or equivalent formal training in automated systems controls operations.
• Knowledge of test and diagnostic equipment, instruments, hand, and power tools used in this work.
• Ability to read and analyze building blueprints and HVAC systems diagrams and specifications.
• Tridium Niagara N4 certification a plus.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to meet company driver qualification policy.
• Punctual and regular attendance.
• Ability to work on a team and interact with people.
• Ability to communicate effectively with engineers, craftsmen, contractors, vendors, and system users orally and in writing.

Pay

$41.25 - $43.50 an hour or $85,800 - $100,464 a year.
