About the role
Join a global leader in smart, healthy, and sustainable buildings. This role involves designing, configuring, and operating complete building control systems, including fire, security, and other low-voltage control subsystems. You will collaborate with field teams to ensure quality, timeliness, and efficiency in system designs and operations.
Responsibilities
- Design and configure technically complex building control systems as defined by contract documents, including flow diagrams, sequences of operations, bills of material, network layouts, and electrical schematics.
- Develop and test software programs to ensure the system operates per project requirements.
- Create and coordinate drawings and equipment schedules for submittals and installation.
- Select, order, and track delivery of materials for assigned projects; coordinate factory-mounting processes.
- Assist in loading, commissioning, and validating system and network-level controllers.
- Solve problems with subcontractors and other trades to ensure proper system operation.
- Provide field change information for as-built drawings and software updates.
- Keep management and contractors informed of job progress and issues.
- Assist in site-specific training for owners/operators on the building control system.
- Participate in release meetings with the project field team.
- Perform value engineering to provide cost-effective solutions while maintaining customer satisfaction.
- May provide work direction to Systems Design Assistants.
- Adhere to safety standards to ensure employee and subcontractor safety.
This is a remote position with approximately 50% travel required.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience.
- Demonstrated knowledge of the construction or HVAC industry.
- Experience with control theory, automatic temperature controls, building automation systems, and other building subsystems.
- Experience with JCI software programming.
- Demonstrated experience integrating low-voltage building subsystems using industry protocols (e.g., LON, BACnet).
- Ability to communicate technical knowledge to non-technical audiences.
- Advanced computer skills, particularly with computer-related drafting tools.
- Ability to travel regularly.

Pay
Hiring salary range: $75,000 – $105,000 USD. Salary is determined by education, experience, knowledge, skills, internal equity, and market alignment.
