Position Overview Lead the installation and field commissioning of HVAC controls and building automation systems for commercial projects. This role is responsible for managing on-site installation teams, ensuring control sequencing and programming are implemented to design specifications, coordinating with mechanical and electrical trades, and delivering fully commissioned, reliable control systems. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with HVAC controls, building automation platforms (including Niagara/Tridium), and commercial commissioning practices. Key ResponsibilitiesLead and supervise field installation teams for HVAC controls and building automation projects, ensuring work meets quality, safety, and schedule requirements.Install, wire, and terminate control hardware, sensors, actuators, VFDs, and related field devices in commercial HVAC systems.Develop, implement, and verify control sequences according to design documents and operational requirements; translate sequences into working logic on BAS platforms.Program and configure building automation systems and controllers (experience with Niagara/Tridium is strongly preferred).Coordinate closely with mechanical, electrical, and general contractors to resolve installation issues, maintain clear lines of communication, and keep projects on schedule.Perform site commissioning, functional testing, and start-up of HVAC control systems; diagnose and troubleshoot field and software issues to achieve reliable operation.Document installations, as-built wiring, sequence changes, program revisions, and commissioning reports; ensure all documentation is accurate and submitted on time.Train and mentor junior technicians and subcontractors on installation best practices, safety procedures, and control system operation.Manage materials, tools, and on-site logistics to support efficient installation activities and minimize downtime.Ensure compliance with all applicable codes, standards, and company safety policies during installation and commissioning activities.Qualifications5+ years of hands-on experience in HVAC controls installation and commissioning on commercial projects.Proven knowledge of control sequencing, programming, and building automation principles.Experience with Niagara Framework and Tridium controllers/platforms preferred.Strong wiring, panel assembly, and field device installation skills; ability to read electrical and control drawings.Mechanical understanding of HVAC equipment (AHUs, chillers, boilers, VAV boxes, pumps, fans) and how controls interface with these systems.Experience performing commissioning, functional performance testing, and troubleshooting of control systems.Leadership experience supervising field crews and coordinating multi-trade project activities.Familiarity with industry standards and protocols (BACnet, Modbus, LonWorks, etc.) and commissioning standards.Valid drivers license and willingness to travel to project sites as required.Relevant certifications a plus: factory certifications (Niagara/Tridium), HVAC controls certifications, EPA, NATE, or NICET.Strong communication, documentation, and time-management skills; ability to work in a fast-paced construction environment.BenefitsCompetitive Pay: $100k - $130kMedical InsuranceHealth InsuranceDental InsuranceVision InsuranceLife Insurance401(k)Paid HolidaysPaid Time OffCompany Vehicle/Car AllowanceTremendous Growth Opportunity Email Your Resume In Word To Kayton.Nimmo@CyberCoders.com Looking forward to receiving your resume through our website and going over the position with you.
