Responsible for the complete and satisfactory installation of commercial HVAC equipment and accessories. Communicates with customers to answer questions, resolve problems, and ensure complete satisfaction. Promotes products and services, trains other installers, and assists the Field Supervisor or General Manager with work audits, site supervision, and planning.
Responsibilities
- Installs heating, air conditioning, ventilation, and refrigeration equipment and accessories in accordance with company requirements and manufacturer specifications
- Performs limited diagnostics, designs, fabricates, and installs ducts and duct fittings as required
- Performs start-ups on air conditioning, heating systems, and other components
- Delivers excellent customer service and promotes products and services to customers
- Generates and communicates replacement product sales leads to the Sales and Service Coordinator
- Responsible for delivery and removal of equipment needed for installation work
- Ensures proper use, maintenance, and accounting of company property, vehicles, and tools
- Completes all paperwork accurately and collects payment from customers
- Represents the company professionally and maintains a clean, neat installation vehicle
- Follows standard procedures, stocks the company vehicle properly, and manages vehicle inventory
- Assists with site supervision, planning, estimating, and quality audits on installations
- Trains other installers in technical skills and company procedures
- Performs other duties as assigned
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED with additional HVAC technical training certification
- 6+ years of experience in HVAC installation
- All valid federal, state, provincial, or local licensing/certification as required
- EPA and safety certifications
- Proficient in HVAC equipment functionality, installation, and ductwork layout
- Advanced mechanical aptitude and ability to operate necessary tools and equipment
- Ability to read wiring diagrams and troubleshoot electrical, refrigerant, and duct systems
- Skills in starting up and balancing airflow, aligning belts and pulleys
- Experience installing electronic air cleaners, refrigeration systems, hot water systems, steam boilers, and humidifiers
- Ability to calculate heat gain and loss using approved methods
- Effective communication and time-management skills
- Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record
- Available for flexible hours and on-call shifts
- Ability to work in various environmental conditions (hot, cold, heights, confined spaces, etc.)
- Ability to lift up to 75 pounds and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds
- Ability to stand, walk, climb ladders, stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl
- Natural or corrected vision for close, distance, and peripheral tasks
