Position Summary
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on air-cooled and water-cooled chiller systems
- Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and control system issues
- Inspect compressors, motors, pumps, valves, refrigerant circuits, and control components
- Perform system startups, shutdowns, and performance testing
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, P&IDs, and OEM documentation
- Maintain accurate maintenance records in the CMMS
- Monitor system operation and recommend improvements for efficiency and reliability
- Respond to emergency breakdowns and participate in on-call rotation as required
- Comply with all safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements
- Cook with operations, engineering, and outside contractors
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED (technical or trade school preferred)
- Minimum of 3–5 years HVAC or chiller maintenance experience
- Strong working knowledge of refrigeration systems and HVAC controls
- EPA Section 608 Universal Certification (required)
- Ability to troubleshoot electrical circuits, motors, and control systems
- Strong safety awareness and attention to detail
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with large-tonnage industrial or commercial chillers
- Familiarity with Trane, Carrier, York, or similar systems
- BUILDING AUTOMATION SYSTEM (BAS) experience
- VFD and control system troubleshooting experience
- Current HVAC or mechanical license
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Ability to stand, walk, climb, bend, and kneel for extended periods
- Ability to work in hot, cold, noisy, and industrial environments
Work Schedule
- Full-time, day shift
- Overtime, nights, weekends, and on-call work may be required
