As a CBRE HVAC Building Engineer, you will be the backbone of our facility’s infrastructure, ensuring the seamless operation of critical systems for a world-class corporate environment. This role focuses on maintaining peak building performance, managing sophisticated mechanical assets, and acting as a professional technical expert for the world’s largest commercial real estate services firm.

About the Role

This position is part of the Engineering and Technical Services job function and is responsible for providing support, preventive maintenance, and repairs on equipment and systems.

Responsibilities

  • Assign tasks to team members and ensure all duties are completed in a timely manner.
  • Install, repair, adjust, service, and maintain electric or pneumatic control systems used for building heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration systems and equipment, including calibration of related instruments, gauges, and control components.
  • Inspect and conduct ongoing maintenance on building HVAC equipment to ensure proper operation and compliance with all applicable codes, regulations, and work safety.
  • Troubleshoot equipment failures and identify the best course of action for equipment modifications.
  • Apply in-depth knowledge of standard principles and procedures to accomplish complex assignments and provide innovative solutions.
  • Coach others and share in-depth knowledge of your job discipline and broad knowledge of several job disciplines within the function.
  • Lead by example and model behaviors consistent with CBRE RISE values, working to build consensus and convince others to reach an agreement.
  • Impact a range of customer, operational, project, or service activities within your team and other related teams.
  • Work within broad guidelines and policies, and explain difficult or sensitive information.

Requirements

  • Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States without the need for visa sponsorship now or in the future.
  • High School Diploma, GED, or trade school diploma with 4-5 years of job-related experience. In lieu of a diploma, a combination of experience and education will be considered.
  • Strong working knowledge and HVAC experience.
  • Preventative maintenance and troubleshooting/repairs experience.
  • EPA Universal certification required.

Skills

  • Meet the physical requirements of this role, including stooping, standing, walking, climbing stairs, and the ability to carry heavy loads of 50 lbs. or more.
  • Ability to exercise judgment based on the analysis of multiple sources of information.
  • Willingness to take a new perspective on existing solutions.
  • In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office products (e.g., Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Organizational skills with an advanced inquisitive mindset.
  • Sophisticated math skills, including the ability to calculate percentages, fractions, and other financial-related calculations.

Schedule
