Responsibilities
- Design, configure, and operate complete building control systems with a focus on HVAC Controls to meet project requirements.
- Develop complex software programs, commission, and troubleshoot to ensure proper system operations.
- Create flow diagrams, sequence of operations, bill of material, network layouts, and electrical schematics as required.
- Develop and test software programs to meet project intent.
- Coordinate the creation of drawings and equipment schedules for submittals and installation.
- Select, order, and track delivery of materials for assigned projects.
- Coordinate factory-mounting processes to meet project schedules.
- Assist in loading and commissioning system and network-level controllers.
- Validate system functionality and troubleshoot issues with subcontractors and trades.
- Provide field change information for as-built drawings and software updates.
- Keep management and stakeholders informed of job progress and issues.
- Input data to track project progress using collaborative dashboards.
- Provide site-specific training for owners/operators on building control systems.
- Participate in release meetings with the project field team.
- Perform value engineering to provide cost-effective results while maintaining customer satisfaction.
- Coordinate with project owners to determine engineering and field execution task responsibilities.
- May provide work directions to Systems Design Assistants and other project resources.
- Adhere to safety standards with a high regard for employee and subcontractor safety.
Requirements
- Associate or Technical degree, or equivalent work experience (three years of relevant technical work as a commercial HVAC Controls Technician, Engineer, or Installer).
- Demonstrated knowledge of the HVAC industry.
- Knowledge of control theory, automatic temperature controls, building automation systems, and other building subsystems from design, installation, or commissioning perspectives.
- Experience integrating low-voltage building subsystems using industry protocols.
- Ability to communicate technical knowledge to non-technical audiences.
- Advanced computer skills, particularly in drafting tools.
- Willingness to travel to job sites as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering with a minimum of three years of experience.
Pay
Hiring salary range: $73,000 – $95,000, determined by education, experience, knowledge, skills, internal equity, and market alignment. This role includes a competitive bonus plan based on individual, group, and corporate performance, as well as a comprehensive benefits package.
