Position Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Building Automation Service Technician to support our expanding controls division. This role focuses on troubleshooting, maintaining, and optimizing BAS and HVAC control systems across a variety of commercial environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose, service, and repair building automation and HVAC control systems
- Perform preventive maintenance and ensure systems are operating efficiently
- Update, modify, and commission control programs within Niagara and Distech platforms
- Analyze system performance and recommend improvements for efficiency and energy savings
- Troubleshoot network communication issues and resolve complex system challenges
- Configure and calibrate field devices such as sensors, controllers, and actuators
- Collaborate with installation teams to ensure smooth handoff from project completion to service
- Maintain clear service documentation, system backups, and maintenance records
- Utilize remote monitoring tools for diagnostics and ongoing system oversight
- Promote a strong culture of safety, quality, and customer satisfaction
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in BAS, HVAC controls, or a related technical field
- Strong knowledge of HVAC systems and communication protocols such as BACnet, Modbus, and LonWorks
- Ability to interpret electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, and control diagrams
- Understanding of IP networks, system integration, and controls architecture
- Demonstrated troubleshooting and problem-solving capabilities
- Strong communication skills and customer-focused approach
- Valid driver’s license with a clean record
- Ability to work independently while managing multiple service priorities
Preferred Experience
- Niagara N4 or Distech Controls certification
- Exposure to lighting controls, energy management tools, or IoT-based systems
- Basic programming or scripting experience (e.g., APIs, BQL, PX, GCL, or similar tools)
- OSHA 10 (or equivalent safety certification)
