Responsibilities

• Perform plumbing, electrical, or other functions necessary to complete overhaul of HVAC equipment.
• Work from blueprints, schematics, manufacturing manuals, engineering specifications, sketches, ordinances, code requirements, and oral or written instructions.
• Install air conditioning, refrigeration, ventilation, and heating systems and equipment, excluding ductwork.
• Troubleshoot and diagnose malfunctions within HVAC systems and make all necessary repairs or overhauls.
• Balance, calibrate, adjust, and modify HVAC systems and equipment following installation, overhaul, or repair.
• Perform plumbing, electrical, or other functions necessary to complete overhaul or repair assignments on the equipment side, from the main domestic water or gas valve and the main electrical disconnect switch.
• Conduct electrical installation and maintenance from disconnect limited to 480 volts and below, and conduit runs limited up to 5 feet of flexible conduit outside of unit.
• Perform plumbing limited to within unit only and complete all refrigerant lines.
• Use oxyacetylene for HVACR work but not for welding or cutting.
• Perform periodic inspections to ascertain proper temperature and humidity readings.
• Calibrate and adjust air flow and balance system.
• Perform preventative maintenance (P.M.s) as required.
• Maintain log of operating data in accordance with prescribed procedures.
• Create material take-off lists in their own craft and order materials or parts directly from vendors, including using online systems or writing purchase requisitions.
• Order parts and materials from plant site stores.
• Have experience with electrical, pneumatic, and electronics controls.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalency (GED).
• Ability to work any designated shift, including overnight.
• Four (4) years (within the last 10 years) of experience in industrial HVAC.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Secret clearance prior to the start date.
• U.S. citizenship is required as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
• Ability to obtain and maintain an Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives Access (ATF) clearance.

Starting wage: $31.27
