An HVAC Apprentice II requires basic knowledge of job procedures and tools obtained through work experience to complete routine and standard projects and assignments within the Technician Services family. Works under general supervision.
Responsibilities
- Maintains a safe work environment at all times.
- Performs HVAC equipment maintenance, service, and/or replacement as directed.
- Documents work process hours daily.
- Attends related training classes and completes assigned training modules.
- Completes written tests and performance profiles as required by the apprenticeship program.
Requirements
- Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record.
- Ability to manage time well, follow health and safety protocols, and strong desire to learn.
- Successfully completed HVAC Technical School.
- EPA certification.
- Ability to stand, walk, climb ladders, and maneuver in attics, basements, and crawl spaces to access HVAC units.
- Ability to continually climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, and/or crawl.
- Ability to work in a variety of environmental conditions, including but not limited to: hot, cold, outdoor, indoor, dry, humid, slippery surfaces, heights, and congested areas.
- Ability to safely climb 300lb load capacity rated ladders with a 30lb tool belt.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and carry items weighing up to 30 pounds.
Working Conditions
Moderate physical activity, including lifting up to 50lbs and extended periods of walking and standing. Working in a combination of environments including inside buildings, outside in various types of weather, in hot attics, crawlspaces, and basements.
Qualifications
- 0-1 years of experience.
- High School Diploma or GED.
