About the role

The role involves managing the daily care and maintenance of animals in a zoo setting. Responsibilities include feeding, cleaning, and monitoring the health of various species.

Responsibilities

• Feeding and watering animals according to their dietary needs.
• Cleaning enclosures and animal habitats daily.
• Maintaining records of animal health and feeding schedules.
• Monitoring and reporting any signs of illness or distress.
• Assisting with training and behavior modification programs as needed.

Requirements

• A high school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience working with animals, preferably in a zoo or similar environment.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays.

Qualifications

• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
• Good communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Physical stamina for lifting and moving heavy objects.
• Knowledge of basic animal husbandry practices.

Skills

• Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Understanding of animal welfare and conservation principles.

Pay

$20 - $25 per hour, depending on experience.

Schedule
