Responsibilities

  • Teach English curriculum to students in assigned grade level sections.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and deliver comprehensive, student-centered curriculum.
  • Support student learning by incorporating a variety of pedagogical approaches to facilitate understanding across an array of learning styles.
  • Develop students’ critical thinking, intellectual, and social-emotional skills.
  • Collaborate with learning specialists to identify and support those students requiring additional resources or enrichment activities to promote optimal engagement with their learning.
  • Communicate with students, parents, and colleagues in a timely and professional manner.

Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree in History, English, education, or related; master’s preferred.
  • A minimum of three years of previous Humanities teaching at a similar grade level.
  • Excellent classroom management skills.
  • Demonstrated confidence and aptitude with the use of instructional technology, such as Google suite for education and related resources.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to connect with all members of the community.
  • Demonstrated interest in being part of a collaborative team.
  • Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and commitment to accuracy in all aspects of work.
  • Ability to maintain absolute confidentiality and the integrity of all aspects of information disseminated within or external to the school community.
  • Commitment to being part of a diverse, equitable, and inclusive school community.

Qualifications

Pay

The salary range for this position is $55,000 to $90,000, based on experience.

Schedule

This is a full-time, 10-month per year position.
