About HOLAS
The Humanitarian Organization of Latin American Students (HOLAS) is Carleton's home for Latin American and Caribbean students on campus. Founded in 2007, we are the largest group of our kind in Canada's Capital. We aim to share and celebrate "la cultura" (our culture) amongst the greater Ottawa community through fun events, cultural initiatives, and humanitarian work. We are known for our humanitarian projects, such as Locura Latina and our Latin bake sale, where we run fun events for you to enjoy with all proceeds going to charities and people in need back in Latin America.
Who Should Join
- Students of Latin American or Caribbean descent looking for a community
- Students who want to practice their Spanish or Portuguese language skills
- Students interested in learning about new cultures and practices
- Students who love Latin dance
