Responsibilities
- Makes recommendations to the Human Resources Manager
- Organizes and administers all activities of the Human Resources Department
- Develops department goals, objectives, plans, procedures, and systems
- Guides employees and managers in interpreting personnel policies and procedures
- Hires, trains, and coaches Human Resources staff
- Communicates personnel policies, procedures, and benefit plans to ensure compliance and understanding
- Coordinates and oversees credit union recruitment activities
- Administers benefits programs
- Manages workers' compensation claims, staff leaves of absence, work restrictions, and return-to-work processes
- Organizes team-building activities, wellness events, and social gatherings
Requirements
- A two-year college degree or completion of a specialized course of study at a business or trade school preferred
- Minimum five years Human Resources experience or completion of comparable Human Resources studies
- Minimum 2 years supervisory/management experience
- Personal computer literacy with various Microsoft Office applications, ADP and HRIS systems, and ability to utilize the Internet for research and job postings
- Working knowledge of state and federal labor laws and other laws pertaining to Human Resources/Payroll practices
