The Human Resources Specialist plays a pivotal role in supporting the full spectrum of HR functions in a startup-like environment.
Responsibilities
- Support and execute day-to-day HR operations including onboarding, offboarding, record-keeping, benefits administration, and policy compliance.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records, HR systems, and documentation in accordance with federal, state, and local regulations.
- Aid in developing and refining HR policies, templates, and standard operating procedures as the organization scales.
- Coordinate the full-cycle recruitment process, including job postings, candidate screening, interview scheduling, offer letters, and onboarding logistics.
- Support sourcing efforts for construction, technical, and corporate roles, building pipelines for hard-to-fill positions.
- Deliver structured onboarding experiences that quickly integrate new hires into VeroTouch's culture and operational cadence.
- Serve as a day-to-day point of contact for employee questions, concerns, and HR matters, escalating complex issues as appropriate.
- Help maintain and reinforce VeroTouch's culture of excellence, accountability, and builder's mindset through consistent communication and engagement.
- Support investigations, documentation, and resolution of employee relations issues in a fair and consistent manner.
- Aid in administering performance management cycles, including goal-setting templates, feedback tools, and evaluation tracking.
- Care for training and development logistics, including safety orientations, onboarding training, and team-wide programs.
- Manage compensation and benefits programs, ensuring competitive offerings that align with industry standards, including health insurance, retirement plans, paid time off, and performance incentives.
- Partner with corporate counsel to ensure full compliance with federal, state (Colorado-specific), and local employment laws, occupational safety regulations (particularly for construction sites), and industry standards, while maintaining accurate HR records and reporting.
- Monitor HR metrics, employee engagement, retention trends, and organizational health; provide data-driven recommendations to improve processes and overall workforce effectiveness.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience, a proven work ethic, and a strong commitment to continuous learning—attributes that deliver results beyond traditional education.
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, Organizational Development, or a related field (preferred).
- 3+ years of HR generalist experience, ideally in construction, manufacturing, technology, or startup environments.
- Foundational knowledge of talent acquisition, employee relations, onboarding, and HR compliance.
- Working knowledge of employment laws, including Colorado-specific regulations and OSHA basics relevant to construction environments.
- Ability to build trusted relationships across diverse teams from field crews and technicians to office staff and leadership.
- Comfort operating in ambiguous, fast-moving environments where structure is still being built.
