Human Resources Specialist
About the role
This position provides a variety of human resources management services in recruitment and placement, position classification, employee relations and performance management, employee benefits, and human resources development.
Responsibilities
- Performing position analysis to determine organizational requirements
- Determining recruitment strategies and posting job announcements
- Reviewing applications and applying qualification standards
- Providing advice and assistance on performance management
- Providing assistance in the administration of benefits programs
- Administering guidance on pay and leave
- Conducting evaluations of human resource program operations
Requirements
To be eligible at the GS-12 level, you must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 level. Specialized experience is defined as experience that involves advising management on recruitment methods and strategies; developing vacancy announcements; experience evaluating and referring qualified candidates for positions to include adjudicating veterans' preference, and non-competitive hiring authorities. In addition, experience providing advisory and technical services in at least one other human resource function is required: leave and benefits, employee relations and performance management, position classification, human resource development, or employee compensation.
