About the role

The HR Specialist provides foundational support across key People & Culture functions, including employee data management, recruiting, onboarding, and employee engagement. This role plays an important part in maintaining accurate employee records, supporting HR operations, and enhancing the overall employee experience. The HR Specialist works closely with the VP of People & Culture and leadership to support organizational initiatives and contribute to a collaborative, high-performing environment.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain employee files and ensure accurate, organized, and audit-ready recordkeeping
  • Manage HRIS data entry and updates, ensuring data integrity and consistency across systems
  • Support full-cycle recruiting coordination, including job postings, resume screening, interview scheduling, and candidate communication
  • Auxiliary with recruiting events, career fairs, and external talent pipeline initiatives
  • Carefully coordinate onboarding processes, including new hire setup, orientations, and cross-functional alignment
  • Support offboarding processes, including documentation, system updates, and exit coordination
  • Prepare employee-related documentation, including offer letters, compensation updates, and employment verifications
  • Auxiliary with payroll-related activities, including timesheet review and data entry
  • Auxiliary with benefits administration, employee communications, and open enrollment support
  • Track and monitor completion of required training, certifications, and policy acknowledgments
  • Maintain and improve HR templates, processes, and documentation to drive consistency and efficiency
  • Proactively identify opportunities to improve processes, organization, and overall efficiency

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred
  • 1–3 years of experience in HR, recruiting, onboarding, or employee data management
  • Experience working with HRIS systems (e.g., Paychex, ADP, or similar) preferred
  • Basic understanding of HR practices, employment processes, and confidentiality standards
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to maintain accurate and organized records
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion
