Overview

Indiana University Health is seeking a proactive, detail-oriented, and discreet HR professional to join their Human Resources team as a Human Resources Specialist. This role provides essential administrative and operational support to the HR leadership team.

Key Relationships

Reports to: Director – Human Resources
Direct reports: None
Shift: Full time, Monday – Friday, hybrid
Location: Indianapolis, IN

The Scope

  • Providing calendar and administrative support to HR Directors
  • Attending leadership meetings, taking notes, tracking action items, and building agendas
  • Performing transactional Oracle work in support of HR operations
  • Reviewing compliance-related spreadsheets to identify non-compliance issues and helping the team take action
  • Maintaining strict confidentiality of employee data and sensitive HR matters
  • Delivering high-quality customer service and professional representation of the HR department

Candidate Qualifications

  • High School Diploma/GED required
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent years of experience preferred
  • One to three years of job related experience in a confidential environment preferred
  • Previous Human Resource experience preferred
  • Experience with matrix organization and complex work environment preferred
  • Knowledge and understanding of regulations and laws (e.g. FLSA; COBRA; ADA; FMLA; etc.)
  • Basic proficiency in MS office required (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)

  • Organized & Reliable: Manages calendars, agendas, and action items without anything slipping through the cracks.

  • Tech-Savvy: Comfortable with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Collaborative: Works well alongside HR leaders, business partners, and a variety of internal stakeholders.
  • Adaptable: Comfortable shifting between administrative support, compliance work, and HR operational tasks as priorities evolve.
  • People-Focused: Brings a service mindset to everything you do, making both internal and external customers feel supported and valued.
