Key Responsibilities

  • Manage full payroll cycle for the location, ensuring accurate and timely processing of payroll data each pay period.
  • Review timekeeping information, resolve discrepancies, and handle exceptions including manual checks and approvals.
  • Ensure payroll data integrity by verifying hours worked, deductions, garnishments, and adjustments.
  • Administer payroll entries and transfers using Paylocity, including weekly data processing.
  • Work with staffing agencies and accounting to ensure accurate payroll and AP check requests.
  • Maintain records for garnishments, benefits, vacation/PTO, insurance and retirement deductions.
  • Administer and process payroll elements based on union contracts, including dues and salary adjustments.
  • Manage unemployment notices of entitlement, appeals, documentation, and compliance requirements.
  • Provide information and guidance to employees, supervisors, and managers on payroll policies and procedures.
  • Cook up with HR and department leadership on payroll-related issues and documentation.

Must-Have Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2 years hands-on payroll experience with ownership for accuracy, integrity, and compliance.
  • Paylocity payroll processing experience required (weekly transfers and data management).
  • Experience with payroll deductions, garnishments, and payroll adjustments.
  • Union payroll exposure with demonstrated understanding of dues processing and contract compliance.
  • Strong attention to detail and accountability for regulatory and unemployment processes.
  • Proficiency with MS Office Suite (especially Excel).

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Gather timekeeping data on hours worked for each employee and review the downloaded information for completeness and accuracy.
  • Contact various department supervisors for any missed times.
  • Process weekly transfer of payroll data to Paylocity.
  • Receive approval from upper management for payment when needed.
  • Process manual checks as needed.
  • Gather timekeeping data on hours worked for each contracted associate and review the downloaded information for completeness and accuracy.
  • Supply hours to the accounting department ensuring their accuracy.
  • Supply weekly hours to the appropriate staffing agency and generate an AP check request.
  • Compile payroll data such as garnishments, vacation time, insurance, labor allocation, and 401(k) deductions.
  • Updates, monitors and maintains eligible salary adjustments/increases based on union contract and review dates.
  • Reports vacation, PTO, paid leave and personal/holiday use.
  • Maintains working relationship with union officials and adheres to terms of labor contract concerning the processing of union dues.
  • Maintains and processes all Unemployment Notices of Entitlement and potential charges in a timely, efficient manner.
  • Filings all appeals and collects, organizes all necessary work and termination paperwork, and coordinates participation by all necessary parties.
  • Greets, interacts with and supplies information to job applicants, employees, department heads, and public and private agencies.
  • Pairs with employees and management to communicate various human resource policies, procedures, laws, standards and other government regulations.
  • Answers and transfers telephone calls as necessary to various departments within organization.
