Responsibilities
- Ensure full compliance with all applicable employment laws and regulations, including but not limited to FLSA, EEOC, ADA, OSHA, and DOT requirements.
- Administer and monitor Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) checks for all team members operating company vehicles; evaluate driving eligibility and maintain documentation.
- Maintain up-to-date personnel files and HRIS records in compliance with legal and company standards.
- Cover internal audits and prepare for external compliance reviews or investigations.
- Work with Corporate HR management to develop and implement HR policies and procedures that align with company goals.
- Partner with location leadership to ensure compliance training is being completed in a timely manner.
- Manage leave of absence programs (FMLA/LOA), workplace safety, and risk mitigation practices.
- Facilitate orientation sessions covering company policies, compliance requirements, and role-specific expectations.
- Partner with department leaders to identify training needs and implement continuous learning programs (e.g., safety training, customer service, leadership development).
- Track and report on training completion, certifications, and compliance-related education.
- Evaluate onboarding and training effectiveness and continuously improve programs.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to managers and team members on HR-related matters.
- Investigate team member concerns, complaints, and workplace issues in a fair and timely manner.
- Support performance management processes, including disciplinary actions and performance improvement plans.
- Promote a positive work environment aligned with company values and culture.
- Support the Risk team as necessary to promote workplace safety initiatives in compliance with OSHA and automotive industry standards.
- Coordinate incident reporting, workers’ compensation claims, FMLA and return-to-work programs.
- Ensure all team members receive proper safety training and certifications as required.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (or equivalent experience, preferred).
- Entry-Mid Level Human Resources Management experience, preferably within the automotive, hospitality or multi-location environment.
- Strong knowledge of employment laws, compliance requirements, and HR best practices.
- Demonstrated success in onboarding, training program development, and employee engagement.
- Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in HRIS systems (ADP Workforce, ComplyNet and Microsoft Office Suite).
- HR certification (PHR, SPHR, or SHRM-CP/SCP) preferred.
