About the role
Sunny Health & Fitness is a premier distributor and importer of premium, high-quality health and fitness products. The Human Resource Generalist will support the HR department in managing day-to-day operations.
Responsibilities
- Administers various human resources plans and procedures for all company personnel
- Aids in the development and implementation of personnel policies and procedures
- Maintains compliance with federal and state regulations concerning employment
- Develops and maintains government-mandated programs
- Filings EEO-1 report annually
- Maintains other records, reports, and logs to conform to EEO regulations
- Conducts recruitment efforts for all exempt and non-exempt personnel, seasonal, and temporary employees
- Conducts new-employee orientations
- Maintains career-pathing
- Writes and places advertisements
- Administers leaves of absence for Company employees
- Ensures written documentation/communication with the employee regarding leave, disability and benefits information
- Enters leave information into FMLA Manager
- Tracks timeline and communicates with employee and manager as necessary
- Handles employee relations, counseling, various disciplinary investigations, decisions and actions, outplacement counseling, and exit interviewing
- Participates in administrative staff meetings and attends other meetings and seminars
- Maintains company organization charts and employee directory
- Handles employee motivational activities for the company, such as special events (various company holiday parties, picnics, executive retreats, etc.) with management approval
- Responsible for the training needs of employees, supervisors, and managers
- Other related duties as required and assigned
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred
- 4+ years of relevant human resources experience preferred
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Able to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate
- Able to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality
- Thorough knowledge of CA employment-related laws and regulations including FLSA, EEO/AA, ADA, Workers’ Compensation regulations, DFEH, EEOC, FMLA and CFRA
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software
- PREFERRED: PHR or SHRM-CP certification
