About the role
Temporary Human Resources Generalist position located at the District Office in downtown San Jose. The assignment runs through December 18, 2026.
Responsibilities
- Perform a variety of advanced para‑professional human resources functions to support District managers and employees.
- Implement day‑to‑day operations of the Human Resources department, assisting management, faculty and staff.
- Maintain Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS) data and physical personnel records.
- Handle payroll and salary administration, including contract administration.
- Coordinate training and professional development.
- Administer benefits and employment services.
- Handle basic employee relations.
Preferred Experience
Experience working in a human resources function at a higher‑education institution is preferred.
Qualifications
- Associate degree from an accredited institution with course work in human resources management, business administration or a related field.
- Three years of experience performing paraprofessional human resources functions.
Pay
Hourly pay rate: $55.29.
Schedule
Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.
