Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary HR point of contact for assigned departments, supporting employees and administrators throughout the employee lifecycle.
  • Administer HR operations, including position control, compensation and salary administration, HRIS transactions, payroll coordination, and employment actions.
  • Support labor relations through collective bargaining agreement administration, grievance support, contract interpretation, and bargaining preparation.
  • Ensure compliance with employment laws, Board policies, certification requirements, and organizational procedures while continuously improving HR processes and service delivery.

Requirements

  • Aceess to the Flexible Work Program, which allows eligible employees to perform their job duties from a designated alternative location up to two days per week.

Qualifications

  • Associate's Degree in a related field and a minimum of four years of related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and abilities can be acquired.
  • Experience with labor relations preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships at all levels throughout the organization.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as technical data, organizational policies, employment contracts, and collective bargaining agreements.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Pay

$30.60 - $35.50 hourly based on relevant prior work experience, with the potential to earn up to $38.22 after employment with Oakland Schools. Non-Exempt Position / 12-month work year
