About the Role
Quanta Services, South Region is seeking an experienced Human Resources Generalist to join our team. The Human Resources Generalist provides broad-based, hands-on human resources support across the employee lifecycle, including onboarding, employee relations and leave administration, HRIS data management, and compliance. This is a senior-level, individual-contributor role for an experienced HR generalist who can operate with minimal supervision, exercise sound judgment on sensitive employee matters, and serve as a trusted point of contact for employees and frontline leaders.
This position is classified as hourly (non-exempt) and is eligible for overtime pay in accordance with applicable federal and state law.
Responsibilities
- Serve as a point of contact for employees and supervisors on HR policies, procedures, and general HR questions, escalating complex issues as appropriate.
- Support employee relations efforts, including assisting with workplace investigations, coaching supervisors on conflict resolution and disciplinary actions, and helping resolve employee concerns fairly and confidentially.
- Support the full employee lifecycle through new-hire onboarding and documentation assistance.
- Audit employee records in the HRIS, including new hires, transfers, promotions, terminations, and status changes.
- Help ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws (e.g., FLSA, EEO, ADA, FMLA) and company policy; assist with audits and required reporting.
- Prepare HR-related correspondence, reports, and presentations, including turnover, headcount, and other workforce metrics.
- Support learning and development initiatives, including coordinating training schedules and materials, tracking completion of required and compliance training, and helping identify employee development and upskilling needs.
- Maintain strict confidentiality of employee and company information at all times.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support the HR department and business objectives.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of progressive experience in an HR generalist, HR representative, or HR coordinator role.
- High school diploma or GED required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Working knowledge of federal and state employment laws and regulations (FLSA, EEO, ADA, FMLA, etc.).
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint) as well as AI tools.
- Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills, with the ability to handle sensitive and confidential matters with discretion and professionalism.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail; able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Sound judgment and problem-solving ability, with a customer-service mindset toward employees at all levels.
Preferred Qualifications
- PHR, SHRM-CP, or equivalent HR certification.
- Experience supporting a field-based, hourly, or multi-site workforce.
- Prior experience in construction, energy, utilities, or infrastructure services industries.
- Spanish-English bilingual
