Position Overview

The Human Resources Generalist supports organizational compliance, operational accountability, and workforce practices aligned with applicable employment laws and company philosophy. Key responsibilities include:

  • Fostering engagement of Niowave's core values at all levels
  • Supporting new hires, terminations, compensation adjustments, staff status changes, payroll auditing, and off-cycle activities impacting payroll processing
  • Candidate coordination and scheduling for interviews
  • Onboarding activities including new hire documentation preparation
  • New hire onboarding and orientation support
  • Compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations
  • Return-to-work planning, accommodation evaluations, and staff member reintegration

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Employment Law, or related field or equivalent experience
  • 6+ years progressive Human Resources (People Operations) experience, including:
    • Administering FMLA, ADA accommodations, wage and hour compliance, timekeeping processes, and employment law-related activities
    • Solid knowledge of federal and state employment laws and regulatory compliance requirements
    • Conducting audits, maintaining documentation integrity, and supporting operational compliance initiatives
    • Holding a SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, SPHR, or related certification
    • Experience within manufacturing, technical, scientific, or regulated operational environments

Desired Skills

  • Master’s degree in Human Resources, Employment Law, Organizational Leadership, Business Administration, or related field
  • 8+ years progressive Human Resources or employment compliance experience
  • Change Management training

Other Information

  • Full-time position
  • Standard operating hours: Monday – Friday 6:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.
  • Expectation of adjusting work time outside of standard operating hours as needed
  • Travel between multiple Lansing-area locations expected
