About The Role
The Human Resources Generalist supports and executes the day-to-day responsibilities of the HR department. The generalist covers a broad range of HR functions, including compliance & oversight, onboarding & offboarding, payroll coordination, benefits and leave administration, performance management & termination, employee relations & investigations, and policy & documentation management.
The Human Resources Generalist will provide administrative support ensuring effective communication and resolution of employee concerns, while promoting a productive and supportive work environment.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with HR team and department managers to write, implement and maintain HR policies, procedures and guidelines that align with company objectives and regulatory requirements.
- Manage all aspects of HRIS, including employee records management, system configuration and workflows (i.e. change of status requests (COS), COS letters and adding details to payroll notes, when applicable).
- Own and effectively project manage ongoing HR projects to support HR Manager and HR initiatives, managing deadlines, workflows, processes and deliverables.
- Support HR team on annual employee handbook and policy and procedure updates.
- Support HR team on annual job description and SOP (standard operating procedures) updates.
- Own employee onboarding and offboarding processes, including new hire orientation, ensuring a seamless experience for new hires and departing employees.
- Provide guidance and support to employees and managers regarding HR policies, procedures and best practices.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date HR records and documentation in HRIS and employee files, ensuring compliance with data privacy regulations.
- Stay current on industry trends and best practices in HR management, bringing innovative ideas to enhance our HR processes.
- Conduct exit interviews and summarize data for management.
- Process employee data in the HRIS database and assist with data accuracy and reporting as required.
- Absorb benefits administration, including Open Enrollment and routine employee inquiries about benefits and enrollments.
- Support annual performance review process in Q1 of each year, train directors and managers on process, audit reviews and ensure that recommended merit increases align with performance review scores.
- Cook payroll to ensure accurate data for payroll notes management to process bi-weekly payroll (i.e. hours worked, salary adjustments, deductions, tax changes, terminations, new hires, benefit changes).
Qualifications
- 2-3 years experience as a HR PHR or SPHR certification preferred
- Experience in a fast-paced, high-growth environment
- Experience with HRIS systems
- Experience processing payroll
- Benefits administration experience
- Experience with performance management software
- Experience with employee engagement initiatives
Skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with employees at all levels of the organization
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify and resolve HR issues
- A solid understanding of HR policies and procedures, as well as federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations
- Proficiency in using HRIS systems and other HR-related software to manage employee data and track HR metrics
