The role partners with branch managers and employees on training and development, benefits, onboarding, and provides policy and procedure guidance to employees and management. It serves as a trusted point of contact for HR questions and helps keep policies applied consistently across all locations. Human Resources Generalist Essential Functions Communicates and supports the Kirby Smith vision and core values of One Mission, One Team, One Plan, One GoalMaintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommends best practices, reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance Participates in developing department goals and objectives, including recruiting and retention training and development, employee and labor relations, and total rewardsMaintains confidentiality and integrity in all mattersCoordinates and delivers manager and employee training on HR topics and policiesSupports performance review cycles, recognition programs, and engagement initiativesAssists with the Performance Management processes and trainingAssists with reporting for the Apprenticeship ProgramAids with conducting exit interviews and shares trends with HR leadership.Conducts or assists with workplace investigations and recommends resolutionsServes as a point of contact for employee and manager questions on policies, procedures, and workplace concernsHelps draft, update, and communicate offer letters, policies, and the employee handbook so they stay consistent across locationsConsistent and reliable on-site attendancePerforms other job-related duties as assigned Human Resources Generalist Minimum Qualifications Five (5) years of recent human resources experience requiredBachelor's degree in human resources, or a related field preferred, or additional experience may be considered in lieu of degreeExcellent verbal and written communication skillsExcellent organizational skills, meticulous attention to detail, and the ability to prioritize tasksStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsThorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulationsProficient with Microsoft Office - Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and various web-based applicationsPossesses the ability to quickly learn HRIS and ATS softwareExperience in heavy equipment, construction, manufacturing, or another industrial or skilled-trades environment a plus PHR or SHRM-CP certification a plus Human Resources Generalist Physical Requirements Lifting or carrying up to 20 pounds without assistanceThe ability to drive locally and to sit for long periodsAbility to work with a team or independently Please Note: This position is considered safety sensitive.
