About the role

This position provides human resources support to Distribution Center leadership in areas including talent acquisition, employee relations, benefits, payroll, timekeeping, safety, and project work. You will make a positive impact on how employees experience organizational change and work closely with leadership to achieve specific business goals.

Responsibilities

  • Recruitment for various positions, including seasonal roles: conduct market analysis, post positions, and track FTE.
  • Onboarding: send communication to headquarters for position-specific access, assign security access cards, handle I-9s and certifications, and conduct new hire orientation.
  • Timekeeping: approve timecards, Paid Time Off, and Sick Time.
  • Payroll: communicate garnishments and set up system access.
  • Track and submit temporary agency hours for invoicing.
  • Safety program: organize safety meetings, daily communication, observations, and updates; work with headquarters for facility needs; make recommendations to improve safety culture; document and report all incidents to Worker’s Compensation.
  • Training: work with Quality Assurance programs on new quality guidelines; track employee annual trainings; collaborate with the main office HR team to implement HR events such as biometric screenings and flu-shot clinics.
  • Translate communication documents for in-house and headquarters communication.
  • Attend department meetings to understand warehouse needs.
  • Ensure timely completion of employee performance reviews.
  • Assist with disciplinary action and employee relations.
  • Stay up to date with California laws and policies and communicate updates to the corporate office.
  • File maintenance.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of EEO, FMLA, ADA, FLSA, OSHA, Workers Compensation, DOL, EEOC, and other related Federal & California state laws.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
  • Fluency in English and Spanish (written and verbal).
  • Experience communicating and implementing organizational change.
  • Problem-solving skills.

Qualifications

  • 3–5 years of Human Resources experience.
  • Experience with California labor laws and policies.
  • Knowledge of Warehouse Operations preferred.
