Human Resources Generalist
About the role
Hire Ventures is a boutique Human Resources consulting firm headquartered in Atlanta. We specialize in providing fractional, project-based, and advisory HR support to small and medium-sized companies. Since 2001, we have been helping businesses navigate the complexities of HR and recruiting, with a focus on attracting and retaining top talent. Our services are ideal for companies that may have human resource or recruiting needs but may not have their own full-time resource.
We are adding to our North Atlanta based fractional Human Resource Consulting team. This position requires the ability to work during normal business hours and will be 20–30 hours per week. This is not a side hustle; candidates working other full-time jobs or those out of the area will not be considered.
Responsibilities
- Provide exceptional HR support to clients and deliver in various areas of the employee life cycle, acting as an extension of the client to help with onboarding, benefits administration, payroll, leave management, and employee exiting.
- Handle transactional HR work for clients, specifically processing payroll, 401k administration, benefits administration, processing leave requests, new hire onboarding, and employee terminations or offboarding.
- Complete HR-related project work such as updating or creating Employee Handbooks, conducting HR audits, supporting HR investigations, and improving internal HR processes.
- Stay up to date on the latest HR practices to ensure compliance with various state and federal employment laws.
- Work collaboratively with clients’ internal teams, external providers (brokers and vendors), and the Hire Ventures team.
Requirements
- Capacity to work during normal business hours; hours may be flexible, but this is not a side hustle.
- Must be on-site with Alpharetta clients 2+ days per week; hybrid and remote flexibility offered.
- Ideally a Bachelor’s degree in Business, Human Resources, or relevant field, or equivalent experience.
- HR Certification is a plus.
- Must be a problem solver and comfortable using various HR systems, platforms, and resource tools.
- 3+ years of progressive and relevant HR experience.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently, be motivated, articulate, and make sound decisions under position guidelines in a positive, results-driven, and forward-thinking manner.
- Active presence in the professional world, especially LinkedIn.
Qualifications
- Ability to communicate with a variety of people in a polite and professional manner, with high attention to detail.
- Exceptional written and oral communication skills; business writing knowledge is a plus.
- Knowledge of human resources either from courses or working experience.
- Must be coachable with a strong desire to learn, a growth mindset, and a love of technology.
- Be a good team player yet able to work independently with little instruction or supervision and with a high degree of trust.
