About the role
The Human Resources Generalist role is responsible for administering and supporting HR practices, policies, and programs for the Milford sites to align with corporate goals and objectives.
Responsibilities
- Handles, administers, and supports HR practices, policies, and programs that align with corporate HR initiatives and create a compliant, equitable environment.
- Acts as the first point of contact for employee questions/obstacles, ensuring effective resolution, and providing necessary information to the right management team and Corporate HR.
- Implements and coordinates recruiting and onboarding processes to onboard and retain top talent, ensuring employee paperwork is complete and compliant.
- Works with the Benefits and Compensation teams on performance management programs to measure and develop team members towards business and career goals.
- Acts as a “Credible Activist” to build trust and integrity within teams, ensuring engaging, fair, and compliant employee relations practices.
- Captures and maintains employee changes, files, attendance data, disciplinary data, etc., in an accurate, compliant, and confidential manner.
- Coordinates/assists with benefit open-enrollment and wellness activities to enhance employee engagement and productivity.
- Participates in return-to-work with restrictions processes in collaboration with the EHS Manager.
Requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Organizational Leadership, or HR; or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
- Experience: 1 year of experience within human resources, handling all areas of HR and Safety for a manufacturing site.
- Certification(s): Desire to become SHRM-CP or PHR preferred.
- Functional Skills: Experienced with HR activities and initiatives around Talent Management, Recruiting, Employee Relations, Safety, Benefits, and HR practice, policy, and process compliance; strong in project management, organization, planning, and prioritization; excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to educate others on best practices; self-directed and able to handle sensitive information with discretion.
- Technology Aptitude/Skills: Experienced with HRIS applications and proficient in Microsoft Office products including Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
- Languages: Fluent in English, able to present and train team members on new HR policies.
- Leadership/Behaviors: Demonstrates a high customer-service and support personality, educates others on best practices, handles matters sensitively and effectively, listens and solves problems calmly, objectively, and effectively, advises managers on obstacles and recommends thoughtful options, exhibits professional behavior, and collaborates and leads changes within diverse departments and sites.
