Responsibilities
- Track and document compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training, continuing education, and work assessments.
- Administer and execute HR programs including compensation, benefits, leave, disciplinary matters, performance management, and training.
- Handle employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex matters appropriately.
- Maintain compliance with employment laws and best practices, reviewing policies for compliance.
- Oversee, administer, and coordinate all employee benefits, working with Third Party Administrators and insurance carriers.
- Serve as a Subject Matter Expert on the company's retirement savings programs, including audits and reporting.
- Interpret and administer the Collective Bargaining Agreement, including benefits and FMLA/disability leave.
- Manage recruiting, interviewing, and onboarding processes for new employees.
- Ensure compliance with safety training courses during new hire orientation.
- Follow procedures for handling benefit-related matters and stay updated on relevant laws.
- Utilize HRIS to track employee activity and maintain employee records.
- Aid in other HR duties and participate in union negotiations as required.
- Interface positively and professionally with all organization levels, handling issues confidentially.
Requirements
- Minimum of five (5) years of relevant HR generalist experience, especially in benefits and employee relations.
- Experience in a unionized environment is preferred.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision.
- Strong organizational skills and timely follow-through.
- Computer literacy in PC, Windows, Microsoft Word, Excel, and HRIS.
Essential Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management, Benefit Administration, Business Administration, or Social Sciences preferred.
- Prior manufacturing experience preferred.
- High interest in team collaboration and independent work.
