About the role
Assist Services is a growing organization dedicated to serving the traffic control, flagging, environmental containment, and construction industries. We are seeking a Human Resources Generalist to join our dynamic team.
Responsibilities
- Work with HR Coordinator(s) to project hiring needs and create plans and hiring events/onboarding schedules to meet operational requirements.
- Participate in and/or lead team meetings with various departments/divisions within the company.
- Supports HR Coordinators with recruiting and onboarding entry-level positions as needed.
- Support supervisors and managers with coaching, counseling, and disciplinary actions; initiate and conduct investigations when necessary.
- Administer and track leaves of absence.
- Create job descriptions and manage job postings and recruitment of mid-senior level administrative and management positions, collaborating with Human Resources Manager and relevant department heads for final hiring decisions.
- Ensure company policies and procedures comply with all federal, state, and local laws and regulations.
- Track and provide monthly, quarterly, and annual metrics to leadership.
- Manage HRIS system (iSolved) and support annual reporting needs, ACA, EEO, etc.
- Handle all aspects of unemployment claims, including responding to inquiries, filing appeals, and representing the company in hearings and appeals.
- Answer frequently asked questions from applicants and employees regarding standard policies, benefits, hiring processes, etc.
- Maintain the integrity and confidentiality of human resource files and records.
- Administer employee benefits, including collecting and submitting employee information and notices of change in status to insurance carriers or brokers.
- Lead and administer open enrollment annually with support from HR Coordinators.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- 3-5+ years of experience in a Human Resources role, preferred.
- Knowledge of the oil & gas industry and/or transportation sector, beneficial.
- High school diploma or equivalent required, bachelor’s or master’s degree preferred.
- Effective interpersonal skills with the ability to relate to management and employees.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to handle sensitive situations with professionalism and discretion.
- Positive attitude and the ability to be empathetic and flexible.
- Computer/Social Media skills required, experience with writing and posting on multiple job boards.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced culture while remaining focused and effectively managing multiple priorities.
- Ability to multi-task, plan work activities proactively, and complete daily tasks or meet deadlines under pressure.
- Valid Drivers License with a clean driving record (no DUI’s or excessive points).
Qualifications
- Pass a standard criminal background check and work verification check.
- Pass a standard drug screen and fit for duty physical.

Pay
$65,000 - $78,500 salary
