About the role

As our Human Resources Generalist, you'll partner closely with our HR Director to help create a workplace where employees feel supported, engaged, and safe. This is a highly visible, hands-on role for someone who enjoys building relationships, being present on the manufacturing floor, championing workplace safety, and helping create an exceptional employee experience.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a trusted resource to employees and managers by providing guidance on HR policies, procedures, employee relations matters, workplace investigations, accommodations, performance concerns, and other personnel issues.
  • Lead and support site safety initiatives, including safety committee activities, training, audits, incident investigations, corrective actions, and recordkeeping.
  • Support recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, and retention initiatives for hourly and salaried employees.
  • Care for workers' compensation claims and assist with return-to-work processes.
  • Support employee engagement, recognition, and development programs that enhance the employee experience.
  • Ensure compliance with employment laws, company policies, and applicable safety regulations.
  • Maintain accurate employee records and HR data within HRIS and related systems.
  • Build strong relationships with employees through regular communication and a visible presence on the manufacturing floor.
  • Partner with the HR Director on special projects and other HR and safety initiatives that support the needs of the business.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, Safety, or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of Human Resources experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience supporting workplace safety programs and a working knowledge of OSHA requirements.
  • Strong knowledge of employment laws, regulations, and HR best practices.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, coaching, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment, maintain confidentiality, and handle sensitive matters with professionalism.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and HRIS platforms; experience with SuccessFactors and ADP eTime is a plus.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish skills are a plus.
  • Professional HR certifications (SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR) are a plus.

Pay

Competitive salary based on experience and qualifications.

Schedule

Full-time position based 100% on-site at our manufacturing facility in Southfield, Michigan.
