Human Resources Generalist
About the role
The Human Resources Generalist (HRG) provides a broad array of support to clients across all states through virtual contact (phone and email) and onsite visits. The role supports the Human Resources team and clients by providing HR support, service plan follow-up, and assessing organizational needs.
Responsibilities
- Serve as an HR consultant to clients by providing guidance and support on employee relations issues such as performance appraisals, performance improvement plans, investigations, terminations, and reporting on outcomes to ensure clients are using HR best practices and reducing risk to their organization.
- Guide clients in identifying problems, exploring solutions, and assisting them with implementing agreed-upon strategies.
- Support clients in developing company policies and leveraging HR vendor platforms, such as background checks, job postings, ATS, salary surveys, LMS, and HRIS onboarding.
- Develop state- and federally compliant employee handbooks with our handbook builder tool.
- Conduct training sessions and client webinars on systems and other HR-related topics.
- Work with internal and external users of HRIS to understand users' needs and identify action items and solutions.
- Provide technical support to clients, administer employment verifications, assist with labor law posters, supply compensation reports, manage password resets, and handle COI requests by coordinating with the appropriate team.
- Provide support to the Client Services team on Salesforce case follow-up and closure.
- Continually update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications, maintaining personal and professional networks, and participating in professional organizations.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Education & Experience: Bachelor’s degree. Minimum of 3 years of experience as an HR Generalist, administering leave requirements and other legal protections afforded by the FMLA, ADA, state, and other applicable laws.
- Knowledge of state and federal laws, regulations, and HR management practices.
- Experience researching state websites for HR laws, locating HR sample forms, and assessing the validity of resources.
- Must have a quiet, professional home office (if not on-site) and be willing to travel based on client location.
- Multi-state experience (Desirable).
- Background in client services or account management (Desirable).
- Presentation or public speaking experience, particularly conducting group education in person or via webinar (Desirable).
- Specialized training in employee relations, learning and development, payroll, leave management, employee benefits, and workers’ compensation (Desirable).
- Bilingual in Spanish – preferred (Desirable).

- Cloud-based application proficiency (Desirable), including: HRIS, CRM, ATS, Talent Management, Performance Management, Document Management systems (SharePoint, Dropbox, Drive), Social media platforms, Chat and video platforms (Teams, Zoom), Salesforce.

Work Environment
This position is primarily office-based, with work performed on a computer in either a corporate office or a remote home office setting. The role may require using telephones, participating in virtual or in-person meetings, attending company events, and completing training sessions.
